Hi there from the Midwest! I’ve been in Kansas for quite a while, but got the change to explore Kansas City, MO, just across the river (and the state line) over the weekend. After flying into MCI and driving around downtown on my way to the state of Kansas, I couldn’t help but be mesmerized by all the old brick buildings, huge old-school neon signs for businesses and just the feel of the city itself. It was so old industrial world and I loved it.

While on assignment in Eugene, I decided I wanted to take a daytrip north to Portland to check out the downtown area and then head Northeast to some spots along the Colombia River Gorge. Portland is just a two-hour drive from Eugene and if you’ve never been, it’s beautiful.

First stop: Eugene, Oregon. A couple hours south of Portland, this college town, serving the University of Oregon packs a punch.

While on assignment here, I had a lot of free evenings to check out the local downtown area of Eugene (which is so cute!), enjoy some local eateries, hit the UO campus, venture to Autzen Stadium, and even take a quick day-trip to Portland which we’ll save for its own guide. Below are a few places that I really enjoyed (and frequented) while I was there.

Hi there!

A TON has changed since my last post but I am so excited to share that I will be bringing a lot more wanderlust to the blog starting this week! I have accepted an incredible opportunity work-wise that has enabled me to travel the grand ol' USofA on my off days so I have some awesome adventures lined up. From exploring the small college towns I visit and the surrounding areas, hitting the big cities, and making a goal to hit every National Park in the next 2 years, I hope I can bring some travel inspiration to you and provide some great recommendations for stops along your own journey.

While I nomad around the US I hope you'll follow along. I'll be on a plane every week headed somewhere familiar but most of the time somewhere new and unexplored and I can't wait to share this journey with you.

Cheers to being a road warrior.
